Nursery

Our nursery operates from 9am until 3pm during term time.

Commitments

Our staff team are committed to providing the highest quality of early learning and childcare for our youngest children.

In partnership with Dundee City Council, we can offer up to 1140 funded hours per year.

Location

The nursery is situated in a modern modular building at the back of the school and has direct access into our enclosed garden area.

This area also accommodates our primary 1 children before and after school and during our holiday service.

Communication

Communication is a key priority in our nursery, and we update parents/carers daily using an electronic diary and also weekly via an email outlining the activities planned in nursery.

We also use the secure Learning Journals platform to record children’s significant learning and share their milestones with parents/carers.

Facilities

In nursery, children are provided with a wide range of learning opportunities which cover all areas of the curriculum.

The nursery room is divided into areas which include art, play-doh, construction, home and kitchen, puzzles & games, cut/stick & early writing, and quiet area.

Our outdoor space allows children to extend their play and learning in our enclosed garden making use of our greenhouse, planters, willow den, mud kitchen, bikes and scooters and lots more.

Snacks and Lunch

Children are provided with a light snack both morning and afternoon and a two-course lunch.

Our lunch menus are a mix of hot and cold meals each day, with alternatives offered which include a vegetarian option and other options for any specific dietary requirements.

Children can choose from milk or water at both snack and lunchtime.

All menus are planned in line with current guidance.
